Link This is a map of the population percent of women in the United States. There is a large amount of women along the East coast and in the South-East area whereas the West coast doesn't have the higher amounts of women. It seems like there is a lower amount of women in the west half of the US than the East. States with high amounts of women are Mississippi, Massachusetts and South Carolina. States with very low amounts include Nevada, Wyoming, Utah and Idaho. I think there are more women in the Eastern half because there is more urban area so there’s bigger cities and more things to do. Women might also live there because the the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico are warmer than the Pacific so the weather would be nicer there. The Rocky Mountains are also a big factor in low population of women because it is harder to live there and make a living. Considering the fact that many women reproduce, when they have their children they often times grow up and stay in the same area as they lived when they were younger so the population would keep getting bigger in that place. This could also be a negative thing because the population could grow and be very oversized so the economy would get worse.
