Crossing the Line GIS Activity

1. One of the boundaries I've created  in my map is the reunification of North and South Korea. It is located in the north eastern part of Asia and above China. The second thing I did was split Ukraine into West and East. Ukraine is located north of the Black Sea and to the west of Russia.

2. In the late 1940's was when Korea separated into north and south because the of the cold war and there was two separate governments with so much tension. In 1950 North Korea started invading South Korea. With that still going on they never signed any sort of peace treaty and are still at war. With that being said, even though they are in such a terrible situation right now there is still a possible chance they will re-merge. It is possible because they already have a history of being together and if they could end the war and start to get along they could have a much better economy and it would be a greater place in the world than what it is now.  For Ukraine the split would be about cultural differences, as in language. The east side speaks Russian and the west side speaks Ukrainian and want to join in on the European side.

3. The boundaries for Korea is the same as it was before except the splitting line between north and south is gone, making it a one whole. The boundary line in Ukraine that was added is a cultural line based on language.

4. Combining North and South Korea could end up being a good thing because they would no longer be in a war and would be able to focus on the more important things like resources and money. If it all worked out they could could have a higher lever economy and be a More Developed Country. Splitting Ukraine could stop any type of arguments because the language would be split and you would no longer be with the half that doesn't speak the same as them.
